Inclement Weather Resources For Schools
-
In the event of inclement weather, we may prepare our schools and offices for a PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Day. To prepare, district office staff and the IT Department will work together with schools to distribute school-issued devices to students and prepare virtual lessons. Our maintenance department and School Nutrition will also work with schools to prepare for impending weather and distribute meals if necessary.
Key Preparation Steps For Instructional Staff:
-
Review the Guide: The PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Day guide is available at . It outlines expectations for lesson planning, communication, and student support.
-
Plan Assignments:
- Assignments should review or reinforce existing content, not introduce new material.
- Upload lessons to Canvas (or SeeSaw for elementary) by Monday evening to ensure readiness.
- Be available via phone, email, or virtual platforms during the asynchronous day to assist students.
-
Communicate with Families: Notify students and parents about assignments and how to access them through Canvas Announcements or other tools.
Techical Support Resources
IT and instructional support staff will be available from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM during asynchronous days. Details and support links can be found in the online guide. -
