    Audio Video Technology and Film

    The broadcasting and digital media industry is comprised of two major employers—radio/television broadcasting companies and movie/television production companies. Approximately 73 percent of employed persons within the industry are in television and radio broadcasting. Jobs within the industry are organized into five major areas: program production (producers, film and video editors, announcers, program directors), news鈥恟elated (reporters, news analysts, news directors), technical (television/video camera operators,technicians, engineers, network systems administrators), sales (advertising/marketing managers and producers of commercials), and management.

     

    Computer Networking

    Computer networking is a broad pathway including occupations such as computer programmers, system analyst and database administrators.  Computer networkers install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. They maintain network hardware and software; and, they monitor the network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Some may supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. Systems administrators are responsible for maintaining network efficiency.

     

    Culinary Arts

    A career in culinary arts involves more than simply cooking.  Many job opportunities exist in this field, from executive chefs to part-time food service workers. Chefs, cooks and food preparation workers prepare, season and cook a wide range of foods in a variety of restaurants and other food service establishments.  Food service managers are responsible for the daily operations of restaurants and other establishments that prepare and serve meals and beverages to customers.

      

    Cyber Security

    Cybersecurity is designed to provide students the basic concepts and terminology of cybersecurity. The course examines how the concept of security integrates into the importance of user involvement, security training, ethics, trust, application of cybersecurity practices and devices, and best practices management. The fundamental skills cover internal and external threats to network security and design, how to enforce network level security policies, how to protect an organization’s information, and a broad range of other topics.

     

    Electronics 

    The electronics industry is a fast growing industry with job opportunities in many fields, including biomedical engineering, informatics and engineering, software engineering, mechatronics and robotics, electronics and micro-engineering, computer systems engineering, electrical and electronic engineering and information technology, and telecommunications.

     

    Energy & Power 

    Energy is a diverse field with many job opportunities.  There are many people who help generate energy, transport it and connect it to the things we use everyday.  There are also those creating new methods of energy generation.  Working in energy can mean working for utilities, for gas and oil companies, for government and research groups, for energy education or environmental regulation agencies, for nonprofit energy awareness and conservation organizations or for many other energy related agencies.
