APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 3, 2025
Purpose: The Silver Volunteerism Cord is awarded to high school seniors who demonstrate commitment to making a positive difference in the community. It signifies that the senior has completed a set number of hours of community service through a non-profit organization.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Volunteerism Cord: 35 hours of community service (All students can count previous volunteer experiences accumulated from their 9th-12th grade years to meet service hours eligibility requirements.
- The volunteer hours can be accomplished in various ways, such as volunteering for a church, civic organization, a non-profit summer camp, school, or hospital. Virtual participation is acceptable.
- Civic Engagement Diploma Seal: Requires 50 total volunteer hours, including 15 hours earned through civic engagement activities (e.g. PTO/PTA meetings, Board of Education meetings, Model UN, National History Day presentations, etc.).
- All service hours will be verified by the school counselor.
