    MENS TRACK AND FIELD

Chris Swint- Chris, the past seven years have been quite the journey. From the very beginning, you have worked hard, remained humble and steadfast in your quest to be successful in anything you tried. You have received praise from every single coach we have ran against. I cannot tell you how many times I have had kids tell me while you were racing, ‘dang, that white kid is running again’ or ‘Now our kid doesn't have a chance’ We began this team together your 6th grade year alongside many other student athletes. However, only three remained in the end. You were one of those three. You put your faith in me and trusted me to provide you with the necessary opportunity to be successful, and along with many other coaches, I believe we have led you to that success. You career has been nothing short of amazing. You were a distance runner early in your career and then switched to sprints in high school and you have truly excelled in both areas. You are a wonderful person and it has truly been a privilege and an honor to coach you and watch you grow. In your career, you alone have earned 631 points  and that includes losing your 2020 season. You have been a state qualifier, national qualifier, Junior Olympian, a region champion in multiple events and hold the following school records: MS points in a career, 100M, 200M, 400M, 1600M, 4X100M relay, 4X200M relay, 4X400M relay, 4X800M relay, HS points in a meet, HS points in a season, HS points in a career, Combined points in a career. You are ranked second all time in the MS 800, MS1600, MS points in a season and are top 3 in many other events. Your senior season was definitely your best, with three region champion events, a championship high points earner and a Garden City high points earner, a sectional qualifier. You had great placements in both indoor and outdoor and advanced to the highest levels in both. You are also the 2024 Davidson Athlete of the Year and the Senior Athlete of the Year. It is with extreme pride and honor to let you know that you are being inducted into both the Davidson Athletics Hall of Fame and will be just the third in school history to be placed into the Davidson Athletics Ring of Honor.

She also mentored younger athletes on the MS track team as well as those in high school to grow as athletes and individuals.

Anna was a two time scholar athlete award winner for her success in volleyball and the classroom. Anna also qualified for state two times in her only two seasons with the GHSA. She began her career on JV but quickly moved to Varsity as the team needed her to fill a back row need. She has played several different positions over the years but her best season yet was her senior year as our Varsity libero, which is one of the most difficult positions there is. Molly was nominated and selected to the Area 4AA All Area 1st Team her senior year. She set records for serve receive in a match, in a season and is second all time in a career. She also bolstered a 95% percent passing accuracy this year which is second all time. She also has records for digs in a season and digs in a career. Koeda was also nominated for the Under Armour Senior All State Team as a libero. Koeda was also selected to the All Area 1st Team her senior year and also nominated for Player of the Year for the region. Koeda brought a competitive spirit to the court but also made everyone laugh and smile in practices and games. Her energy was contagious and kept the team focused and energized. She qualified for state all three GHSA seasons she competed in as well including an Elite 8 quarterfinals appearance and 3 total playoff wins. She will be the first of 2 in school history to be inducted into the HOF at Davidson after beginning her career playing any JV matches proving that hard work and determination do pay off.

Martha Kate Morrison- Martha Kate Morrison has been with our program since the beginning. She began her career at the Kroc Center in our second round and has played every season since on Varsity. She was the first freshman to make Varsity in school history as well. She has demonstrated high levels of skill since she began but I was most impressed by her growth in the leadership position over the years. She has had to balance her personal life, other athletic commitments and her fine arts. She will be the last person from our first ever GHSA state playoff game to graduate. She is one of two this year to graduate after completing four years on Varsity and they are the first in school history to do so. Martha Kate has competed in all playoff games and championships. She has more varsity wins that any other Lady Titan in school history. Katie Trapp -   Katie began her athletics career as a 6th grader in track and field and picked up volleyball in high school. Katie’s balance and determination to never settle for mediocrity has shot her to the top and made her a true competitor. In volleyball, Katie has shown what it means to build your career. She began on JV but put in the work to quickly move up into a varsity role and became a starting setter in her first year. There were bumps in the road as with all athletes and she showed what it means to be a competitor. She demonstrated grit and toughness in the sport but had a friendly, fun and inviting personality. A true renaissance woman. Her work ethic is unmatched, working in season, off season and through yearly summer camps in multiple sports. She was always looking for a way to get better. She attended camps and clinics alongside Davidson events to improve her skills and gameplay. Katie holds both JV and Varsity records including match, season and career records. She holds school records in BHA’s, assists, passing and serving accuracy, and wins in a season and career. However, it is not just the numbers that set Katie apart from her peers, both current and past teammates. Her ability to make a save was insane. The ability she had to place a set in the right spot when needed or to make a set from clear across the court to a drop point location for a hitter was crazy. She accepted the role of setter and the very high expectations that come with that. There were many times I cringed at a backwards sideways set from the 1 that ended up being a perfect set to the 4, almost 30 feet away. She is truly the most talented setter we have ever had in program history. Her career was filled with hurdles and challenges, it was never flashy but it was  filled with great and memorable moments. She hit a career milestone her senior year with over 500 assists and 2,000 BHA’s  for varsity and that’s in about two seasons. She was also a floor captain her senior year and was nominated for the All Georgia Senior team and the All Georgia team. She was selected to the All Area 4AA 1st team as well in 2023.

Bre’lynne Ward - Bre’lynne is one of two 5 year players in school history to complete the volleyball program. From her 8th grade year until her senior season she has continually improved her skill sets in both hitting and her back row play. Bre’lynne ranks 2nd in blocks in a season and blocks in career. She holds school records in attack efficiency in a match and will graduate with the most kills in a career. She is also top 5 in seven other statistics. Bre’lynne brought a competitive spirit to the game and truly rose to the occasion in every big match. The spotlight was never too big and she thrived under the pressure. Bre’lynne also served as a floor captain her senior year. She has played multiple positions and excelled in both, helping us dominate the net as a MB in her first two years and a RS her senior year. She qualified for state all three GHSA seasons she competed in as well including an Elite 8 quarterfinals appearance and 3 total playoff wins. She also holds the career record for wins in a career.

She also holds the season kill % record her senior year while improving her swing speed and hitting power. Ellie was also consistent in serve receive and passing throughout her career marking impressive stats in both areas. She is a pillar of 5 lady Titans that helped build this program from scratch. From her 8th grade year until her senior season she was committed, dedicated and continually improved through hard work and determination. She qualified for state all three GHSA seasons she competed in as well including an Elite 8 quarterfinals appearance and 3 total playoff wins. She also holds the career record for wins in a career.

Tayla Eller- Tayla has demonstrated that hard work and dedication to the sport will ultimately pay off in big ways. Tayla began her career on JV but quickly rose to a varsity position. She played both OH and RH for the majority of her career but also played MB this season and stepped up in big ways. Her main shift was about halfway through her junior year. I noticed something. She matured physically and mentally and grew her skill massively. Her senior year was her best yet. She improved every single statistic individually and was top 5 in kills, kill % and blocks in her career. She also broke the blocks in a match record with a staggering 7 total blocks. And that is after playing MB for about a week. She led the team in 2022 in hitting percentage at.187 which is 4th all time. Her focus on improvement is unmatched. Her work ethic will go down as one of the best to ever play for Davidson. Tayla also helped lead the Lady Titans to a record breaking season as one of our senior captains. Talya was nominated and selected for the Area 4AA All 1st Team and was also nominated for the Georgia All Senior Team in 2022. Tayla is also one of the longest tenured Lady Titans with five total years as she began her career with the Kroc Center. Tayla’s talent also extends past her track and field accomplishments as she has been a tremendous leader throughout the years. She has been a team captain all six years and has demonstrated tremendous leadership every season. From working drills, leading practices and helping newer and younger athletes, she was always willing to go above and beyond what was asked to ensure that the team was always improving. Tayla has a fire and passion in sports and a competitive drive that is unmatched. She has advanced to the sectional championship all three years of her high school career and has advanced to state as well in 2021. Tayla is a 2019 Junior Olympian as well being one of only two track athletes at Davidson to have that honor. Tayla is also the 2023 Davidson Athlete of the Year for the second time.

Elise Pareizs- Elise began her track and field career as a junior when Davidson had its first official track season. Elise served as a team captain both of her years on the track team as well. Her leadership was not only evident in track but also swim where she was also a team captain her sophomore and junior years. Elise is a multi-sport state qualifier as she advanced as a member of the swim relay team in 2020 and both years in track advancing to the GHSA state finals. She is also second in career points upon graduation in track and ranks top 10 in career points in swim. Elise is a fierce competitor and balanced in her events because she was always willing to do what was best for the team. Her individual accomplishments were never a focus. Elise is being inducted as one of the first in school history to enter the Athletics Hall of Fame in multiple sports.

He went to state in track and field for the long jump in track and qualified for state in tennis as the 1 seed each year in high school. GHSA Coaches Hall of Fame

Laurie Montgomery- Over the past 21 years, we have seen Davidson’s Swim Team thrive, competing and excelling at the highest levels. What you began has had hundreds of athletes compete over the years and there has been nothing but success. You helped build a program that has helped students achieve greatness, including state champions and students who attended college on swim scholarships. Davidson has had at least twelve championships and four runner-up championships, a state championship runner-up and a state championship third place. Many of these you were directly involved in over the years. You have helped the Titans Swim Team even after you left the head coaching position, assisting with the team and being the lead dive instructor for many years. We have had four state qualified divers and that is all because of you and your efforts to give back. You have a passion for swim that shows in all that you have done over the years, and you have built an impressive resume coaching for the Titans. Starting a program from scratch is incredibly difficult, and it takes a tremendous amount of time, effort, and skill. It is with great pleasure to announce that you are officially being inducted into the Class of 2024 Davidson Athletics Hall of Fame, and will be the first coach in school history to be given this honor. Your many achievements coaching have not gone unnoticed and I am incredibly proud of you and thankful to have had you on the staff at Davidson.
