Ms. Smith was born in Atlanta, Ga. but spent many of her childhood years in LaGrange, Ga. She is the 2nd oldest of 4 children and was the first sibling to pursue and earn an undergraduate degree. Being somewhat of a middle child, she understood the true meaning of hard work and dedication, in which reflected in her AWESOME grades during her high school matriculation. She graduated from Lagrange High School and immediately began to pursue her degree in the field of Mathematics at Paine College in Augusta, Ga. After receiving her Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics, she embarked upon the career path of Education. 

During her time at the illustrious Paine College, she was worked in the Math Support Center assisting her colleagues in the subject of her hearts desire. Most of her time was spent helping others understand mathematics. During this time, she thoroughly enjoyed helping others and was often told that she was a "natural born teacher" and that she she consider a career in education. She was promoted to the Lead Math Support Specialist and President of the Mathematics and Computer Science Club. It was in those moments when she made the decision to be an educator. Ms. Smith is now entering her 3rd year as an educator and enjoys EVERY moment. She is now pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in secondary education.
