I am excited about being the principal of Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. I've served as DFA's principal since 2014. I also served as DFA's assistant principal for 10 years, and the school holds a large place in my heart. I returned to Davidson from C.T. Walker, where I was principal for 4 1/2 years.

I began my teaching career in 2008 as a high school English Language Arts teacher in my hometown of Danville, Illinois. I became interested in Adolescent Comprehension and decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Reading Education at Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!). At Auburn, I taught in the College of Education for three years and researched for several professors in various programs. After graduating from Auburn, I spent several years working in Higher Education and researching Adolescent Comprehension and technology integration, but my practitioner's heart called me back to secondary education.I am excited and grateful to join the administration team at Davidson. I look forward to working with the parents, faculty, staff, and students.
