Students will trace the history of Georgia in the context of the development of the United States. A chronological approach includes the foundation of Georgia from prehistoric times to the twentieth century. The Georgia Standards of Excellence are our driving force in 8th-grade social studies. The standards are divided into 22 Georgia Performance Standards (12 history standards, 6 government standards, 3 economics standards, and 1 geography standard).
