Hornsby Middle School's Counseling Department empowers all students by providing a competitive, comprehensive school counseling program to facilitate all student's academic, career, social, and emotional development, where all students will graduate and are college/career ready. The school counseling program facilitates the removal of learning barriers for all learners, collaborates and cooperates with all stakeholders, and attends to the career preparation/college planning needs of all students. W.S. Hornsby Middle School's mission includes building a world-class school system through education, collaboration, and innovation. This mission statement is in direct correlation with the county mission which is to build a globally competitive school that educates the whole child through teaching, learning, collaboration, and innovation.     Who are School Counselors?

    Formerly called "guidance counselors," today's school counselors are vital members of student's education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, career development and social/emotional development, ensuring that the students of today become productive, well-adjusted, contributing members of society.
