    COURSE DESCRIPTION
    HEALTHY LIVING – EL2081 A one-semester course designed to encourage students to make responsible, respectful, informed, and capable decisions about topics that affect the well-being of themselves and others. The course provides students with targeted and pertinent information, which they can utilize to develop healthy attitudes and behavior patterns. Critical thinking and decision-making skills are taught and practiced throughout the course, as students are encouraged to recognize that they have the power to choose healthy behaviors in order to reduce risks.
    Areas to be explored include: making responsible decisions; communicating effectively; mental & emotional health; building self-esteem; adolescence relationships & responsibilities; drugs, alcohol and tobacco; human sexuality; families & family relationships; preventing abuse & violence; and peer pressure.
